The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday around 1:36 pm first responders were called to County Rd. 36 in the Town of Naples for a reported single-car accident.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that Damon J. Petty, 55, of Bloomfield was traveling north on County Rd. 36 when he hydroplaned, crossed into the southbound lane, and struck a ditch before overturning.
He was issued tickets for unsafe speed, but Naples Ambulance had to transport Petty to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of a hand injury.
Petty was also charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
