Deputies arrested a 29-year-old Geneva woman after an incident at the Ontario County Jail.
On October 28th at approximately 1:50 pm deputies arrested Melanie Rose Bates, 29, of Geneva for first-degree promoting prison contraband following an investigation into an incident that took place the same day.
Deputies say Bates was found to be in possession of crack cocaine by jail personnel when she was an inmate. She was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
