It was not a great weekend for area high school football teams during the semifinal round of the Section V playoffs. Just two teams remain standing heading into championship Saturday on November 4th. Clyde-Savannah will face Alexander in Class D and East Rochester/Gananda will square off against Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen in Class C.
The C-S Golden Eagles dispatched with Pembroke 42-24 (highlights) on Saturday afternoon but will not face recent rival Red Jacket in the Class D final after Alexander rolled to a 42-14 win over the Indians.

In Class C, ER/Gananda advanced to the championship round with a 29-20 win over Bath (highlights). Their opponent on Saturday, Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen defeated LeRoy 16-7.

In other action this weekend…
Defending Section V Class AA champs and state title runner-up Victor saw their season come to an end at the hands of Aquinas on Saturday night. The final score, 17-9. Aquinas will face Pittsford who defeated McQuaid 35-27.

In Class A, the Canandaigua Braves dropped a 40-34 shootout to top-seeded Irondequoit who will move on to face Wilson after they defeated Brockport 40-14.

In Class B, Livonia beat Honeoye Falls-Lima 40-14 and Hornell topped Batavia 26-7.
The Class C final between ER/Gananda and Cal-Mum/Byron Bergen is set for 3:00 pm on Saturday at Alfred University.
The Class D Final between Clyde-Savannah and Alexander will kick-off at 6:00 pm on Saturday at Alfred University.
