The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that they responded to a two-car accident with injuries on Wednesday around 10:30 am.
Deputies say Edward Hilfiker, 70, of Newark was traveling south on East Palmyra Port Gibson Rd. At the intersection with State Rt. 31 — when he was struck by a vehicle being operated by 21-year-old Maximus Mahoney, of Walcott.
Deputies say Port Gibson, East Palmyra Fire Department and Finger Lakes Ambulance responded to the scene.
As result of the collision, Hilfiker was transported to Newark Wayne Hospital for shoulder pain.
Hilfiker was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way, according to deputies.
