Rain pulls out of the FLX; breezy, mild day on way

Dry air is coming.

After a night of rain and wind for the Finger Lakes, forecasters say a change is on the way. That change will mean a slow drying pattern, which will develop throughout the day as the powerful storm system in the northern Great Lakes pulls out of the region.

FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says that temperatures will push into the 60s during the daytime hours on Tuesday, but that winds will slowly subside.

“A couple of reinforcing shots of cold air will rotate around the low and through the Finger Lakes, possibly touching off a couple more showers. One of these fronts will pass through this evening, but shower activity should remain very limited and will mostly be near or after midnight,” explained Montreuil.

He added, “A few more showers will be possible later Wednesday into Thursday, but again, these should be light and scattered. Outside of any spits of rain, skies will be a mix of clouds and some breaks of sun.”

Cool air will move in from the southwest as these fronts pass through, and by Friday morning, temperatures across most of the Finger Lakes will fall into the 30s.
