Investigation continues in Bice homicide in Canandaigua

Canandaigua city police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the Sept. 30 death of 21-year-old Nicholas Bice, which has been ruled a homicide.

Bice’s body was discovered in his Camelot Square Apartments unit after Canandaigua firefighters had just put out a blaze there, the cause of which was ruled arson.

“We’re putting the case file together,” said Canandaigua Police Chief Stephen Hedworth. “They’re still working on it.”

He said the case is the main focus of Detective Nate Lawrence, who is in charge of the investigation.

“The investigation continues to be pursued aggressively by multiple agencies,” said Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo. “We’re very confident of a good outcome of the investigation and, although I can’t say anything more, we have reason to believe the public is not at any risk right now.”
