Ontario County conducted a household hazardous waste collection day on Sept. 16.
Now they’ve got to help pay for it.
The Planning and Environmental Quality Committee of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors will consider recommending a contract with Clean Harbors Environmental Services of Boston, Mass., for running the event when the committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in Room 200 on the second floor of the County Office Building, 20 Ontario St.
Clean Harbors would be paid $28,676.33 for managing the event. The county schedules two household hazardous waste collection days a year. One is paid fully by Casella Waste Services, operator of the Ontario County Landfill, and the second is shared between the county and Casella.
The committee will also get a update on implementation of the county’s Local Solid Waste Management Plan from Carla Jordan of the Planning Department.
