Trumansburg Rotary Club begins community grant program

Organizations in the Trumansburg area seeking financial assistance for a community event or activity are now eligible for a new grant program.

The Trumansburg Rotary Club unveiled a program supporting community activities, the arts and local libraries. The program includes school learning projects focused on the Trumansburg, South Seneca, Newfield and Enfield school districts.

Grants are generally made in amounts of up to $1,000, though larger grants may be made if funds are available. Applications for the fall are due Oct. 31 with grants to be awarded by Nov. 30. The spring application deadline is May 31 with distribution on June 29.

Funding for the grants come from the club’s local fundraisers, including its famous chicken barbecues, the Trumansburg Rotary Golf Classic and Supermarket Sweepstakes.
