Penn Yan police arrested a village woman after issuing nearly $1,000 in bad checks in one week.
Police say Tia L. Sheldon, 30, of Penn Yan was charged with eight counts of issuing a bad check after issuing several checks with insufficient funds over the course of six days in August.
The eight checks totaled $965, according to police.
The charges will be answered in Village Court at a later date.
