Penn Yan bicyclist struck by car; driver had suspended registration

A 23-year-old Penn Yan woman was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after authorities say she was struck by a vehicle on Rt. 14A late-Saturday.

Police say 44-year-old Frances Fiorilla, of Canandaigua was traveling north around 6 pm when she struck Kristine Leinbach, of Penn Yan, who was riding a bicycle.

The accident took place in the Town of Benton, according to police.



She was thrown from the bike and suffered head, hip and back injuries.

The extent of those injuries, as well as her condition, are currently unknown.

Fiorilla was ticketed for unsafe lane change and driving with a suspended registration.
