OBITUARY: Percy John Allison Jr. of Penn Yan

Percy John Allison, Jr., “Baldy”, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Bath VA Medical Center. He was born on December 23, 1925 to parents Percy J. and Mildred Johnson Allison Weichanthal in Penn Yan, NY.

Calling hours for Baldy will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 4 – 8 PM at the Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel at 201 E. Elm St. in Penn Yan. His Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 29 at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.

Baldy attended Penn Yan schools and served in the US Marine Corps during WW II in the Pacific Theater. He was a meat cutter and manager at Loblaws and P & C Foods for many years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Penn Yan Moose Lodge and Lakeside Country Club.



Baldy is survived by his children: Patricia Chambers of Boise, ID, Jacqueline Mills (Richard) of Penn Yan, Richard Allison (Nancy) of Gorham, Jeffrey Allison (Kathy) of Penn Yan, Paula Allison (Neil Keutzer) of Houston TX, William Allison (Jennifer) of Penn Yan, Steven Allison (April) of Summerville, SC, Kim Lafler of Waterloo, Mary Jo White (Don) of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by 24 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, Companion, Shirley Stokoe and Brother, Phillip Allison of Penn Yan. He was predeceased by his parents, Wife, Vivien, Daughter, Jill Romero and Grandson, Nicholas Romero. He was also predeceased by 3 sisters, Betty Valerio, Barbara Scutt and Phyllis Thompson.
