A Clifton Springs woman was sentenced Thursday to a lengthy prison term related to the sexual abuse of two children.
Ontario County Judge Frederick Reed sentenced Janiet Simonds, 26, to 22 years in prison followed by 20 years of parole. Simonds pleaded guilty to felony counts of criminal sexual act, first-degree sexual abuse and use of a child in a sexual performance.
She will have to register as a sex offender.
State police arrested Simonds and her boyfriend, Tristan Mayes, in July 2016. Mayes later admitted sexually assaulting an infant as well as another child. Simonds was accused of engaging in sexual contact with Mayes while the children were being abused.
