Police say they arrested a 42-year-old after an investigation into a stolen debit card, which resulted in several fraudulent transactions over the course of a month.
Venus S. Edmister, 42, was charged with two counts of grand larceny, four counts of petit larceny, two counts of third-degree identity theft, criminal tampering, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Edmister is accused of stealing a debit card and making multiple transactions at ATM machines. In the process, she had another person’s vehicle repossessed without reason or the owner’s permission, stole license plates, stole a wallet, drove a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and did so while having a suspended license, according to police.
She was processed, arraigned, and remanded to the Ontario County Jail.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
