Late last week, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police Ionia Fire Department and Honeoye Falls Ambulance responded to the intersection of Conn Rd. and State Route 5&20 for the report of a rollover accident.
Deputies say that Cydney Hess, of Bloomfield, was making a left turn onto State Route 5&20 from Conn Rd. when she failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign — being struck by a dump truck.
The dump truck was being operated by Robert Clark, of Prattsburgh, which rolled over — spilling sand as he tried to avoid the collision.
Hess complained of neck pain and her front-seat passenger — identified as a 12-year-old — suffered from a swollen eye. Both were transported to Thompson Hospital.
Hess was issued tickets for failing to yield the right of way and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Rt. 5&20 was temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate.
