Syracuse falls short in the Dome against Middle Tennessee

Syracuse’s final drive stalled deep in Middle Tennessee territory with 28 seconds left in the contest and the visiting Blue Raiders emerged with a 30-23 victory at the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Sept. 9. Wide receiver Steve Ishmael tied the program single-game record with 14 receptions for 116 yards, but it wasn’t enough as Syracuse fell to 1-1 on season. Middle Tennessee evened its record at 1-1 with the victory.

The game marked the first gridiron matchup between Syracuse and Middle Tennessee. The Orange ran 93 offensive plays, generated 25 first downs and held the ball for 33:24, but failed to capitalize on three first-half turnovers by the Blue Raiders. Read MoreBox Score
