Longtime clerk takes on incumbent Skaneateles town supervisor primary

After more than 20 years as town clerk in Skaneateles, Janet Aaron said she is ready to take on a new role in public service: town supervisor.

On Tuesday, Aaron will face incumbent James Lanning in a Republican primary election. The winner will become the GOP candidate on the ballot in November. Aaron already has the Independence Party line secured for the general election, and she is also listed on the Conservative Party primary ballot with a space for write-in candidates after an opportunity-to-ballot petition was filed for that party’s line. There are no Democratic supervisor candidates this year, according to the Onondaga County Board of Elections.
