Hornell man gets 25 years for toddler’s brutal murder

A Hornell man will spend at least 25 years in state prison for killing a toddler.

Dakota Miller, 23, was convicted in June of intentionally causing the death of 18-month-old Ian Maniske-Huff on Thanksgiving Day 2015. Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker said the victim’s death was carried out “in an especially cruel and wanton manner.”

According to prosecutors, Miller also inflicted torture on the child separate from the injuries that proved fatal.
