The town of Skaneateles is considering charging out-of-town residents a fee for parking in the town’s boat launch parking lot, according to town officials.
Public access to the popular Skaneateles Lake is limited to three launches – the Skaneateles town launch, a state launch and, at the far southern end, a town of Scott launch.
If Skaneateles adopts the parking fee that would effectively mean the only free public access to the 16-mile long popular lake will be at the state launch on Route 41A.
