Police: Seneca Falls man fractured victim’s face during fight

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports that they responded to a fight on Sunday around 11:12 pm.

Upon investigation Melvin M. Stiger, 54, of Savannah was charged with second-degree harassment, third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.



Stiger is accused of grabbing another male around the neck, punching him in the face, and holding him down – subjecting him to unwanted physical contact. The victim’s face was fractured, according to police, during the incident.

The victim was transported to Geneva General Hospital for treatment.

The charges will be answered at a later date in Seneca Falls Town Court.

Stiger is being held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $750 cash bail, according to police.
