The Cayuga County Health Department announced Thursday that a boil water order for the village of Cato has been lifted.
The department had issued the order on Monday while repairs were made to the water distribution system. The work caused a loss in water pressure, potentially causing harmful bacteria to be in the water. The department said repairs were completed and the water service was restored.
In addition, water samples collected in the distribution system indicate that no harmful bacteria are present in the system, according to a release.
