Jim Boeheim on death of Kelly Seubert: ‘It’s the saddest day we’ve ever had’

Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim described Kelly Seubert as the “heart and soul of our basketball program.”

Seubert, Boeheim’s administrative assistant for the past 13 years, died on Friday after a battle with cancer. She was 53 years old.

“She ran everything here,” Boeheim said Monday. “From the players, to the camps to the coaches and the administrators. She touched everybody in such a positive way.

“It’s the saddest day we’ve ever had,” said Boeheim, choking up slightly. “We’ve had a few, but this is the toughest one.”
