After getting swept by the Twins in Minnesota, the playoff-chasing D-backs came to Citi Field on Monday night hoping for better results against a Mets team that has had an even harder time winning.
It took 10 innings, but A.J. Pollock’s two-run home run off Erik Goeddel gave the D-backs a 3-2 win over the Mets, ending their losing streak at three games and solidifying their hold on the second National League Wild Card spot. The win left Arizona three games ahead of the Brewers, pending Milwaukee’s late-night result in San Francisco.
