Rayshawn Boswell, a senior at Monroe High in the Rochester City School District, is the latest local high school athlete leaving the area for a prep school before his class graduates.
Boswell, a 2016-17 Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester second team selection in basketball and football, said he departs Sept. 2 for The Berkshire School in southwest Massachusetts.
Part of Boswell’s plan includes reclassifying to go through his junior year again, play football, basketball and, for the first time, lacrosse at the co-ed school. Boswell, who turned 17 years old in June, is an honor roll to high honor roll student at Monroe.
