The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency has scheduled two public hearings on proposed aid packages for local businesses.
The IDA board approved initial incentives at its Aug. 3 meeting. Before granting final approval, the IDA must conduct public hearings, conduct a cost-benefit analysis, and go through the State Environmental Quality Review Act process.
The two projects seeking financial assistance are:
SUMMIT MILK — A public hearing is set for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in Waterloo Village Hall at 41 W. Main St.
Summit officials have asked that a three-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement be extended for two additional years.
The business opened at 61 Swift St. in 2014. It manufactures a specialty milk-based product called ghee.
DANAREN — A public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Seneca Falls Municipal Building at 130 Ovid St.
The IDA wants to help the dental product manufacturer to expand its operations at the BonaDent Dental Laboratories facility in Seneca Falls with a 7,500-square-foot addition. It would result in the hiring of an estimated 20 new employees and retention of the existing, 29-member workforce.
