The Syracuse community will celebrate the life of former head football coach Dick MacPherson on Friday, Aug. 11. MacPherson, who coached the Orange from 1981-90 and led the program to five bowl games and an undefeated season in 1987, passed away Tuesday. He was 86 years old.
Friday’s memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Syracuse University’s Hendricks Chapel. It is open to the public. Parking will be available in Campus West lots (Standart, Fine, Stadium) and at Manley Field House. A shuttle service will begin at noon. Hendricks Chapel also opens at noon.
