Geneva BID seeking candidates for Executive Director

The Geneva Business Improvement District is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.

The Geneva BID is seeking a full-time leader of its staff. Candidates should submit a resume and cover letter via email to [email protected]. Salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

The BID Executive Director is responsible for oversight of the downtown business district’s year-round beautification activities. The Director will lead BID’s efforts to recruit and retain businesses in downtown Geneva. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential as the successful candidate will work with property and business owners, BID Board members, as well as our partners in Geneva City Hall.

Following the unexpected departure of Amanda Airth from the position earlier this year the Board assessed the needs and goals of the organization. “We considered changes to both the office staffing and functions, but the BID Board ultimately decided that the full time executive director model was best suited to the needs of the organization and BID members” says BID Board President David Linger.

the owner of the FLounge on Seneca Street. “Downtown Geneva has experienced a renaissance these past few years. BID’s goal is to keep the positive momentum going with the selection of a top-notch new executive director.”

Linger went on to note that “downtown Geneva is being justifiably recognized by surrounding communities as a success story. We need a BID director that shares the enthusiasm of downtown property owners and merchants and the drive to take us to the next level”. Although educational achievement and employment history will be considered, the BID Board seeks a Director who can be an effective self-motivated leader. Therefore, the BID Board has expressed a willingness to consider applicants with varied experiences and backgrounds.

The BID office can provide any interested candidates with a job description upon request.
