Downtown’s renaissance has been fueled in large part through its reputation as a place for good eats and great drinks.
It’s only natural that great live music be a part of that trend, said the young men behind a new downtown music hall that opens its doors for the first time on Saturday night.
FLX Live comes to 427 Exchange St. in a spot occupied a few years ago by the Headless Sullivan Theatre. The building, owned by Bob Stivers, has been vacant since.
The venue is being run by 2016 Hobart College graduates Ian Pattison, the owner; general manager Nick LaChance and Scott Heffner, who will work the bar.
The three may have left HWS last year, but they never left Geneva, Pattison said.
“The short story is that it’s a beautiful city, and we wanted to be a part of growing it,” he said. “We definitely are happy to be here and be part of its success.”
