A Seneca Falls woman faces multiple charges after police say she choked a uniformed police officer responding to a domestic incident shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The entire incident took place when officers were called to an altercation on West Bayard St. in the Town of Seneca Falls where Emily R. Querrie, 23, was accused of fighting with officers while being placed into custody.
When police arrived, they began investigating the altercation and placed Querrie into custody. Police say she then became combative, punching one officer – and choking another.
Neither of the officers were injured, but Querrie was eventually taken into custody and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and/or blood circulation, two counts of second-degree harassment, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
The charges will be answered in Seneca Falls Town Court on September 7th, according to police.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
