Two people were rescued after the boat they were in began sinking on Lake Ontario Wednesday evening.

First responders were gathered east of Ginna Power Plant Wednesday, responding to the incident on the lake

Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies say two people were rescued, and that they were not hurt.

The boaters said they threw on their life jackets and jumped in the water after trouble surfaced on the vessel, and they called 911 when they were in the water.
