Missing hiker from Webster found dead in Adirondacks

Ralph “Skip” Baker, 50, was found dead by search crews in the East Branch of the AuSable River at the base of Wolfjaw Mountain on Tuesday morning.

He went missing Sunday night after becoming separated with his hiking group. 

Essex County coroner Frank Whitelaw says he went down a 350-foot drop into the river. The cause of death is currently unknown. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday in Saranac Lake.

Baker is a Webster resident, according to multiple news reports.
