Local Elks Lodge to host car show to benefit cerebral palsy research

Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 will host the 1st Annual Car Show to Benefit Cerebral Palsy on Saturday, August 26, 2017.

The event, organized by Trustee John Velte will take place at the hosting lodge, located 2221 West Bayard St. in Seneca Falls.

Dash plaques will be provided for the first 100 cars, food, drinks, raffles, and music at the pavilion will mark the occasion as one to celebrate and raise money for a great cause.

The deadline is nearing for pre-registration, which is $5.00. Registration the day of the show will cost $10.00, while vendors will be provided as much space as necessary for the same price.

“We are really excited about this event and what it can mean for our lodge as a whole,” said Exalted Ruler Brandon Bond. “We have a great facility that allows us to host an event like this — and it’s great to see Trustee Velte taking the initiative to organize it.”

There will be no classes, and awards will be voted on by those participating, as well as one winner chosen by the Exalted Ruler.

All checks should be mailed out to Seneca Falls Elks Lodge 992, PO Box 43, Seneca Falls, NY 13148

“We’re in the home stretch and we encourage anyone who is interested in taking part to contact us with any questions,” added Trustee Velte.

An awards ceremony will also take place at 3 p.m., where winners will be crowned. Winners and their vehicles will be featured on the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge website, Facebook, and in other local media after the event.

The car show will run from 12-3 p.m. — with the lodge opening to the public at noon. The Swap Meet and Flea Market will open at 9 a.m. and continue through the awards ceremony.
