Heron Hill will release Riesling-Chardonnay to benefit EquiCenter

Heron Hill Winery will release their annual bottling of a Riesling-Chardonnay wine that will benefit the EquiCenter for therapeutic riding in Honeoye Falls.

With each case sold, $24 will go directly to benefit The EquiCenter.

The wine will be released in all three Heron Hill tasting rooms on Keuka, Seneca and Canandaigua Lake. It’s availability will begin on Wednesday, August 2nd at retailers in Ontario and Monroe counties.

The annual bottling coordinates with Heron Hill’s 40th Anniversary. The tasting room, Blue Heron Café and production facility are situated on a shale hillside overlooking scenic Keuka Lake.

It was voted as one of the most-spectacular tasting rooms in the world by Travel & Leisure.

For the release day, each Heron Hill tasting room will have complimentary samples. A representative from the EquiCenter will be at Heron Hill on Keuka Lake from 2 to 6 pm followed by Happy Hour and live music on the terrace.

Heron Hill Winery and owners John and Josephine Ingle have actively supported the EquiCenter for the last several years.

“We have taken interest in the EquiCenter over the years and been part of the equine as well as the farming programs. We love what they provide for their participants,” said John Ingle.

This annual special bottling of a Riesling-Chardonnay blend is Heron Hill’s way of showing their commitment to serve the Finger Lakes and the western New York community.

In 2016, Heron Hill raised $4,500 for Seneca White Deer, Inc., and is continuing their partnership with Earl Martin, new owner of the Seneca Army Depot by advocating and fundraising for the planned upgrades and tours at the site.

These efforts will help protect the white deer, preserve the land and increase visitation to the Finger Lakes as a whole.

The EquiCenter wine is a blend of 70 percent Riesling and 30 percent Chardonnay; both varietals are sourced from multiple vineyards within the Finger Lakes. This semi-dry blend is a refreshing and approachable wine that has a fragrant nose of honeysuckle and notes of mandarin and orange blossom with a zesty finish. The beautiful label highlights both The EquiCenter and Heron Hill Winery.

The EquiCenter is a 501(c)(3) organization that offers therapeutic equine programs for those with disabilities, veterans and at-risk youth to help foster personal growth and achievement.

Jonathan Friedlander, President of EquiCenter said he was honored to be part of program this year. “We’re honored to be chosen for this year’s charity for Heron Hill Winery. Our programs will benefit greatly from this partnership,” Friedlander added.

In addition to Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake, Heron Hill has satellite tasting rooms on the west side Seneca Lake and the west side Canandaigua Lake.
