Man facing drug charges after Canandaigua, Victor investigation

Deputies in Ontario County say a Pittsford man was charged after a five week long drug investigation in Victor.

Cody J. Stein, 23, of Pittsford was arrested at 39 E. Main St. in the Village of Victor after the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation in coordination with the Canandaigua Police Department that started with a tip received from a Victor resident.

An undercover officer purchased concentrated cannabis from Stein, on five different occasions to include two transactions inside Victor Vapes – a store located in Victor. Stein was an employee at the store, and according to deputies – two other transactions took place at other locations.

The fifth and last of the sales happened on July 27th around 5:30 pm. Immediately after the sale, Stein was taken into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in Victor Town Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.

Further charges are pending, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
