Fingerlakes Mall’s fate uncertain as online auction concludes

An online auction for Fingerlakes Mall is over, but a representative of the firm selling the Aurelius shopping center said bidding for it is still underway.

The online auction, on commercial real estate site Ten-X, concluded at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with a final bid of $4.1 million.

However, the New York City brokerage firm selling the mall for Siba, Eastern Consolidated, said the bidding is not over. Shortly following the Ten-X auction’s conclusion, Eastern Consolidated Director Evan Papanastasiou said that the firm is speaking to “several bidders at the moment,” and that the Ten-X auction page is “beyond inaccurate.” The page is no longer available online.

Before it closed, the Ten-X page said $4.1 million is below the minimum selling price set by the mall’s seller, Siba Corporation. However, the page said, a winning bidder can still be declared if that price is not met. Ishaan Ambegaokar, the Ten-X contact listed on the mall’s auction page, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
