Arrests made in Seneca County prostitution investigation

On Thursday investigators made two arrests in a prostitution investigation in Seneca County.

Karl B. Wilcox, 50, of Dundee was charged with third-degree patronizing a person for prostitution. Another subject, identified as Charles J. Smith, 40, of Waterloo was charged with fourth-degree promoting prostitution.

The charges stem from an allegation involving the two men where an adult female was transported from Syracuse to the parking lot of the del Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre.

Investigators say Smith received payment from Wilcox for transporting the female and facilitated the arrangement where all three were aware that payment would be exchanged for sexual acts.

The female involved was not identified or charged. A referral was made on her behalf for services.

Investigators added that the Penn Yan Police Department assisted with the investigation.
