Canandaigua man faces drug charge after routine stop in Hopewell

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 22-year-old Canandaigua man following a vehicle inspection at a checkpoint along State Routes 5&20 on Wednesday.

Deputies charged Joseph X. Kitterman, 22, of Canandaigua with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance — after his license was found to be suspended.

Kitterman was found to be possessing a controlled substance and cannabis, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was issued citations and will answer the charges at a later date in Hopewell Town Court.
