Two Cayuga County highway superintendents receive awards

Two Cayuga County highway superintendents received attendance awards at the 72nd annual School for Highway Superintendents conference June 14 at Ithaca College.

Patrick Steger, the superintendent for the town of Niles, received a 30-year attendance award. Kent Walter, the superintendent for the town of Aurelius, received a 25-year attendance award.

The annual highway school consists of topics related to highway care and maintenance in sessions and workshops. It is attended annually by more than 700 highway and public works officials from the state of New York.
