The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving a jet ski and boat with four people on-board that happened on Keuka Lake around 8 pm.
When deputies arrived five people, who had been involved, were brought to the shore by quick thinking witnesses.
EMT’s checked everyone over at the scene and each refused any further treatment, according to deputies.
The investigation revealed that the jet ski, which was being operated by 72-year-old Robert Ford, of Rochester had just taken off when the boat passed in front of him.
The jet ski punched a hole in the boat’s left side. It had been carrying four people from Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Both vessels were towed from the scene.
According to investigators, charges are pending in the incident.
