Deputies: Sisters left kids alone at Eastview Mall store for 2 hours

On Sunday around 5:27 pm members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested two women at the Eastview Mall on child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving their 7- and 9-year-old children unattended at the Lego Store for approximately two hours.

Deputies say Yaquelina Rosario De Hernandez, 54, of the Dominican Republic and Francisca Lopez, 48, of West Henrietta were charged with endangering the welfare of a child after the sisters left their children unattended in the Lego Store for two hours unattended.

The pair shopped at other stores inside the mall while the children were at the Lego Store.

Neither child had any means of contacting their parents in case of an emergency and they did not know where their parents were shopping inside the mall. Security was notified by Lego Store employees who observed the duo inside the store unsupervised for 20 to 30 minutes.

Several pages went out over the mall loud speaker for the parents, which received no response.

The pair eventually returned to the Lego Store to retrieve their children and were issued appearance tickets.

The charges will be answered in Victor Town Court.
