Two Canandaigua residents were arrested on Friday around 12:18 am after being discovered to have been under the influence of a controlled substance while caring for a child.
Police say Carrie Goodrell, 34, and Christopher Staples, 37, were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The duo allegedly were found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and were impaired to the point of being unable to properly care for a two-year-old child that was in their custody.
Goodrell and Staples were remanded to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
