Sheriff: June was busy training month, highlights continued activity

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce provided his update for the month of June this week, highlighting his department activity over the previous 30 days.

Luce reports that June was a busy training month. Training and certifications were completed for Arson Investigation, Court Security, Child Abuse and Elder Abuse.

June 1st: Deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident on Rt. 96, in the Town of Covert. One person was killed; the investigation is continuing.

June 2nd: Investigations solved a residential burglary in the Town of Lodi and arrested the suspect.

June 3rd: Deputies responded to a violent domestic in the Town of Romulus. A woman was threatened to be doused with kerosene and lit on fire. The suspect was apprehended and charged without incident.

June 19th: The Dive Team recovered burglary evidence from Vancleef Lake for the Seneca Falls Police Department.

June 21st: The Sheriff’s Office hosted FBI training for an overview of: Sovereign Citizens, International Terrorism and Domestic Terrorism.

June 28th: Narco executed a search warrant in the Town of Lodi and took down a large cocaine trafficking operation. Three persons were arrested; drugs, cash and weapons were seized.
