An Auburn man was arrested for giving officers a false name and possessing stolen property after a car accident last week, New York State Police said.
According to a press release, on Friday, June 30, troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 318 in the town of Junius. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Supreme R. Hines, of Auburn, had been in a minor accident that caused some property damage.
At first, troopers said Hines gave officers a false name. However, troopers later determined his true identity.
In addition, police said a search of Hines’ vehicle revealed “booster” bags containing merchandise from various stores.
