The Rochester Americans are turning to one of their most decorated and beloved players to lead them out of a prolonged funk that has stretched to a dozen disappointing seasons.
Chris Taylor, a member of the team’s Hall of Fame and 50th anniversary team, was named head coach late Friday afternoon by general manager Randy Sexton. Taylor, 45, becomes the 12th former player to assume the head coaching role in the Amerks’ 62-year history and he’s the 32nd coach overall.
