Deputies in Ontario County arrested a 23-year-old Geneva resident on June 26th around 12:46 pm following an investigation into unreported accounts during a DSS assistance application process.
Maira N. Aguilera, 23, of Geneva was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. She allegedly completed and signed two false DSS assistance forms to the Ontario County Department of Social Services on January 9th of this year.
In doing so, she received $2,465.61 in benefits, which she should not have. She failed to report bank account information.
The charges will be answered in Geneva City Court at a later date.
