Geneva Public Library and Geneva Reads honored six local residents at a joint Volunteer Recognition Social earlier this spring at the library.
Presentations to the honorees were part of an evening that included a meal prepared by library employees and Geneva Reads board members to thank their volunteers; a Bingo icebreaker; and a special library-related “Family Feud” game created by library Director Chris Finger.
Theresa Osborne, volunteer coordinator at the library, organized the event with help from other staff members.
The library named three Volunteers of the Year: Bette Schubert, Justin Babcock and Gene Taras. Geneva Reads named a Community Partner of the Year: Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union; and three Volunteers of the Year: Sue and Richard Henderson and Fred Schühle.
