Geneva Community Projects takes a seat along Seneca Lake

A local nonprofit is encouraging the community to take a seat and enjoy Seneca Lake … from a brand-new Adirondack chair.

It’s a fundraiser by Geneva Community Projects, which is partnering with the city of Geneva and Sensenig’s Landscape Supply to install 13 Adirondack chairs along the newly renovated Lakeside Park. Members of the community can sponsor the chairs.

“We are excited to bring more people to the waterfront,” said Katharine Korona, president of Geneva Community Projects, which is dedicated to building and renewing Geneva through projects designed to promote the public good and uplift the human spirit.

Board member Tara Rago from Lyons National Bank brought the fundraiser idea before the board after seeing Adirondack chairs being enjoyed by locals and visitors on a trip to the St. Lawrence River, Korona added. The idea met the organization’s goals, and a plan was set into motion.
