Repair aid available to some homeowners in town of Waterloo

Own and live in a home in the town of Waterloo needing repairs to meet health and safety codes?

If you fall into the guidelines for low to moderate income, you could be eligible for a grant from the town through the Community Development Block Grant program.

Supervisor Gary Westfall said application forms are available at the town office building, 66 Virginia St.

“We have enough money to do 20 to 25 homes,” Westfall said, urging people to apply if they are eligible.

In other action Monday, the board was told the special zoning code review committee has begun to work with consultant Shawn Logue of the MRB Group on possible revisions to the town zoning code to correspond with recommendations in the town’s new comprehensive plan.

Westfall said the revisions will be discussed and refined to where they can be introduced in October or November, subject to a public hearing and adopted to go into effect in January.
