The Tobacco Free Network of Central New York recently released new tobacco data for Cayuga County on May 31 — World No Tobacco Day:
• 60 percent of county residents would support a policy prohibiting the sale of tobacco at county pharmacies, which is in line with the 10-county regional average.
• 81 percent agree that movies intended for youth should not include tobacco use or imagery
• 60 percent of people who live in multi-unit residences said their landlord prohibits smoking inside, which is 11 percent higher than regional data. Fifty-six percent of nonsmokers and 72 percent of current smokers in such residences said smoking is prohibited everywhere in their buildings.
