The City of Canandaigua is considering a new dock proposal from developers of a lakefront resort, to the chagrin of some residents who say the dock will be an unnecessary blight on the waterfront.
The development of the Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort on the lake’s north shore has gone at a glacial pace in recent years as developers struggled to finance the project. The project as it stands now proposes to bring 44 condos, a 109-room hotel, plus a conference center and spa to the area.
A lender is now on board with the project, on one major condition — the parcel needs boat slips for condominium residents.
