The next couple days are going to be wet in the Finger Lakes.
Rain chances are going to gradually increase throughout the day on Thursday, according to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil. He says that a slow-moving frontal boundary will be the blame, but that the whole region shouldn’t expect to see a washout at any point in the day.
Temperatures will trend upward for the next two days, as well, with highs on Thursday expected to reach the upper-70s.
There is the risk for some heavy, flooding rains on Friday.
Montreuil says that he is monitoring the possibility of flash flooding, as moisture from Tropical Storm Cindy is sucked into the northeast. There is plenty of uncertainty in his forecast – but expecting a completely dry Friday might be out of the question.
There’s also the threat for some severe weather on Friday. The risk is low, according to Montreuil – but given the atmospheric setup – entirely possible.
